SHOT PEENING

Shot peening is a method of introducing compressive stress into the surface of a material.

This compressive stress can be introduced by the mechanical impact of different types of spherical shot impacting a surface. The impact from shot peening needs to be sufficient to plastically deform the surface at a microscopic level in order to modify the energy state in the component outer surface.

DECORATIVE FINSHINGS

Whether you require a decorative finish for electronic, industrial or scientific equipment we can enhance the final product finish.

With a range of subtle controlled blasting systems we can reduce machining marks and produce an even satin finish. As a stand alone finish on Stainless Steels, Nickel Alloys, Titanium Alloys or Aluminium components we can provide an outstanding finish. Our decorative finishing process can also be used as a prefinish for parts that are subsequently anodised either as a natural finish or for a dyed anodic finish.

COATINGS

Linking the correct material with the optimum coating technology for specific applications is part of the specialist coating solutions service that Sandwell can provide.

Corrosion resistance, abrasion/wear resistance, insulation properties, conductive properties, working temperature and environmental issues. The range of coatings offered by Sandwell include Xylan low friction coating, Xylan anti corrosion coating, high temperature coatings and lightweight coatings and many more.
